“I want to make images of the people that I am directly involved with everyday. Any image I make must have a feel for the skin’s meaty physically, its vulnerability, its poignantly beautiful imperfections and the inherent emotional confrontation that occurs when we are presented with these basic truths of the human condition as opposed to the airbrushed fantasies we are presented with daily by the media. The people portrayed in my images, are for the most part close friends or family members; they are important enough to me to want to have them, our relationships, and our daily shared experiences recorded forever.”
