Wicklow has given Bob Lynn a rich store of subject matter, which he has drawn on for many years. His work inhabits a world somewhere between figuration and abstraction: objects and things are strongly suggested if not actually depicted. The artist is primarily concerned with evoking feelings rather than depicting/describing physical things; he does this very successfully through his bold use of colour.

"Sometimes the use of descriptive local colours do not fully express the original sensation, there is a need and necessity to use colour in an expressive or evocative way as opposed to descriptive or journalistic way."
