Symmetry
The Black Church Print Studio presents ‘Symmetry’ at the Original Print Gallery from 13th February to 7th March.
This exhibition was co-selected by artist, Rhona Byrne and graphic designer, Oran Day.
The term ‘symmetry’ has many meanings and applications; within the fields of visual culture, philosophy and physics the term opens up very different discussions. Within the world of printmaking however, there has always been a special connection between the idea of symmetry and the particular duality that exists in the reflective relationship between the print and the plate.
Black Church Print Studio invited submissions from Irish and international artists working in a wide range of media who address and respond to symmetry and its many meanings. This exhibition will include print, sculpture, and video installation works. Image left, digital print by Corey Naughton
